Who we are
This website belongs to the Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center, known as The Big Red Barn, a nonprofit at 250 Cordova Road, Seguin, TX 78155. When this page says “we,” it means the Barn.
What you share with us
We only get personal information when you choose to send it:
- Contact form: your name, email, phone number, the topic you pick and your message.
- Rental inquiry form: your name, email and phone number, plus your event date, type of event, guest count, the space you want, your answers to the alcohol and insurance questions, and anything you tell us about your event.
- Phone calls and messages you send us directly.
Payments and donations
Deposits, payments and donations go through PayPal, Venmo or Square on their own websites and apps. We never see or store your card or bank details. Those services share with us what they normally share with a recipient, such as your name, the amount and any note you add. Their own privacy policies cover what they collect.
What the website collects on its own
- Google Analytics tells us which pages people visit, roughly where visitors are, what kind of device they use and how they found us. It uses cookies to do this. We use it to see what is useful on the site, not to identify you.
- Google Fonts supplies the lettering on these pages, so your browser asks Google’s servers for it, which means Google sees your IP address.
How we use your information
To answer your questions, plan rentals, field trips and events, keep track of deposits and donations, and keep the website working well. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
Who helps us handle it
- Web3Forms delivers what you type into our forms to us by email.
- Google provides the analytics and fonts described above.
- PayPal, Venmo and Square process payments and donations.
- Vercel hosts the website, and RJ Digital builds and maintains it for us.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and inquiries as long as we need them to help you, and we keep rental and donation records as long as a nonprofit needs them for its books.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics. To ask what we have from you, or to have it corrected or deleted, call us at (830) 379-0933 or use our contact form.
Children
This website is meant for adults. Teachers, parents and group leaders book field trips and programs for students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
