The Big Red Barn is a genuine Texas barn on a working heritage farm, and we book by conversation, not by an online cart, so we can match your day to the right space.
The Big Red Barn is a nonprofit in Guadalupe County dedicated to agricultural education and heritage preservation. Every event you host here helps fund the field trips, education programs and upkeep of the farm. When you rent the barn, you keep the classroom open.
Three Spaces, One Historic Property
- The Main Hall. Our largest, climate-controlled space, lined with tack walls and ready for long tables. It is the heart of most of the weddings, reunions and fundraisers we host, and it makes a natural home for a holiday party.
- Zion Lutheran Church. A restored 19th-century country church with air conditioning and heat, made for ceremonies and intimate gatherings.
- The Extension Hall. More room to gather. It is rented together with the Main Hall as extra space for a bigger crowd, and there is no restroom on that side, so it works as overflow, not as a standalone room.
You can pick one space or combine them for a larger day.
A Few Honest Things to Know
The Big Red Barn does not hold a liquor license, so any alcohol has to be served by an approved bartending service. Every event needs event liability insurance, which is easy to add through your insurer or an online provider. Food is wide open: use any caterer you like, or bring your own. This is a working farm, not a sterile ballroom, so expect wood, history and a little character. That is exactly why people love it.
